2002 lifted explorer HELP!!!

I recently did a truxx lift and the 3in body lift but I think I got a little to happy grinding the steering extension now the male part fits fine but the part where the steering wheel connects to the extension is really loose and the shaft keeps dropping. How can I fix this besides having a buddy try and tack weld it?? Thanks

O the problem has been solved i drilled the extension and notched a piece of the extension for it to work all is gravy now.
