I have a 2004 3.0 2WD Ranger with what I assume is the 4r44e (according to the door code) or the 5r44e (which some places list for the truck) with just over 50K miles. I was having trouble with rough 2-3 shifts, and no overdrive. I removed the Valve Body, replaced the EPC, and separator plate...now the 2-3 shift is smooth, but still no Overdrive. Anytime it should go into OD, it just wont. If I turn off OD and then turn it on at speed, it will give an error code, or if i just drive at 50MPH+ for about 10 miles it will give an error. I can drive as long as I want with OD off.

I am wondering if this sounds like the OD band needs adjustment? or do I need to look somewhere else for a fix.

I have searched the forums and found nothing that seems to describe this, so any advice will be appreciated!

Thanks

I have not gotten the code scanned. I was wanting to not have to pay $100 just to get it read. I may see about doing that this week.
