I finally found a 2006 V8 limited that I liked, still under factory warranty for 10days. We settled on sweet price(buying from Volkswagon, was previous trade in) knowing it had to go into service for squealing coming from front end during idle. No clue what it was, but ford service is saying it needs torque converter. I don't think it's a deal breaker, and a couple mechanics including my mechanic uncle told me the same. I'm curious though, what would cause torque converter to go? Could there be something else wrong in tranny? Or something else faulty? I have it written into contract that squeal must be gone, other than that all I can tell you is this is the sweetest shifting truck I ever drove, smoother than my hemi cherokee, no rust underneath, very clean car.
