2009 Mazda B4000 timing chain question

.I have a 2009 Mazda B4000 v6 4l I bought it with the timing chain messed up in the passenger (So I was told from a ford mechanic)I put a compression tester in one of the plugs on the passenger side and it has 0 compression the needle doesn’t move at all but in the drivers side it has 180 psi compression..In my mind that’s telling me the timing chain is snapped on the passenger side so the values aren’t closing at all ..Does the engine have to be removed to replace the passenger side timing chain ? And is the repair the same on a 2009 Mazda B4000 v6 4l 4x4 as the ford sohc v6 4l ? Thanks for any help

Yes the engine needs to be pulled to access the bolts in the bell housing area
