2wd Automatic V-8 swap into 98

I'll be stuffing a 302 out of a 96-97 explorer into my danty little 98 regular cab step-side bed in the near future.

What transmission do I need to strap into it to leave it 2WD? and what mounts do I use? (also just to confirm, I simply use the Explorers engine mounts correct)

If you are looking to run a 5 speed transmission you can use a M5R2 out of a 97 to 03 F150 with a 4.2. with 2wd.
And you need special plates made up to mount the v8 in for 2wd rangers 98+. There is a guy on here his name is bryan who sells plans for them.

Project is half-way done, Already have a 5.0 mounted to a 2wd 4R70W literally dangling in my motor bay as of this week.
