Can 3 or 4 valve heads be swapped onto our motors? As I understand it it can be done with like Mustangs. I find the 4.6L in my Mounty to be pretty gutless otherwise. Thanks
Yes, you can do a head swap. You can either get some good 2 valve heads, or do a 4 valve swap. I have seen some complete Aviator engines go pretty cheap on eBay.
You have many options available to you for your truck. I would suggest a nice set of worked 2v heads with cams. That plus boltons will make your truck a monster. You can do the 4v head swap if you want but you will have to end up swapping allot over and fitment into the engine bay will be much tighter. You will have to get custom headers made if you swap to the 4V heads too. It is still doable but will not drop in as easily as the worked 2v heads and cams will.
