4wd not engaging

No that wont work. I just got another transfer case from a salvage yard. I'l put it in soon. I'l let you guys know.

I got the other transer case put in. 4wd works great now. What would cause that magnetic ring to burn out in the first place?

Any electromagnet has a coil of wire in it, which is susceptible to burn-out, like any electrical part. imp
