6 disk CD changer errors

I have a 6 disk changer that is haveing a problem with the CD inside the unit.

It all started when I left the interior lights on and the battery ran down. The 6 disks that I had in the unit are homemade disks with no labels. Now everytime I try to load a CD, I get a load error. When i go to eject the disk it says that are no CD's.

I have read somewhere in this website how to access DTCS for the radio. I assume that the DTCS are trouble codes for the radio. What do I do from here?

remove power to the battery and then reconnect it and the loss of power to the cd player should get it working agin. it did this on my 02 explorer sport.

Install a switch?

I downloaded the wiring diagram from around here in the forum, then cut the power and installed a switch, now everytime it starts acting up I turn the power off then on again and it works
