I've had intermitten operation of the torque converter lock up since I bought my 92' Explorer. I ran the computer code test and came up with 629 (TORQUE CONVERTER LOCK-UP solenoid circuit failure) . I will try checking the connectors and wiring first. Where is the connector/wiring located on the transmission? Thanks

The connector for the 3-4 and TCC solenoids is on the drivers side of the transmission. There will be three wires in it.

Note that for the EEC-IV computer to trigger either a KOEO or CM 629 normally requires either a complete break in the circuit or a short to ground. Depending on how intermittent the fault is, this may not be real difficult to track down.

MrShorty, Thanks for the info, this will help. Lynn
