I have an 89 ranger that I just put a new engine in and had issues getting spark after several days and long hours I found some bad connections fixed them and got spark, truck runs now but has idle issue it will idle any where from 1500 to 2500 rpms until I rev engine over 4000 rpms once I do that engine will idle down to proper 850 rpm, I hooked my modis scanner up to vehicle and found a fault saying no tach signal to computer, I checked tach wire going to the brain and have a 7 ms pulse going through it. has any one heard of anything like this and if so any ideas on how to diagnose and repair.
