ok so I'm looking at a very clean 89 ranger with a 2.9 V6 and it's standard for 700 bucks. I've heard that the 302 swap are a breeze and all you need to do is change the motor mounts, I don't know how accurate that is though.

So has anyone tried a carbed 351 swap? if so what issues did you run into and has anyone tried a T5 swap aswell and what issues are invovled with it?

if the 351 has to many issues then I was thinking just carbed 302 with a T5, sounds pretty straight forward but I wanted some feedback about it first.

Thanks

302 is super simple. Just Mustang motor mounts and a set of tri-y's for a first gen Mustang. They bolt right in and clear everything great.

351 will require custom headers.

T5 is simple. Just convert it to hydraulic with a external slave cylinder.

who makes custom headers for a 351?

As in custom I mean fab a set up. BUT. There IS one company I know if that make a set for the 351w in a Ranger. Total Performance out of Michigan. There is a guy using a set over on the ranger station. There not cheap. $400+ I believe it was and I dont know how well they fit.
