92 Explorer EB Vacumn hose

I heard a loud hissing coming from the engine; RPM gauge read 3000 rpm at idle but it was idling less than that. Noticed that a hose or cap was missing from the vacumn port which is labeled vacumn reservoir/ERG in the manual. I can't find the hose that goes there. Where does it come from? Thanks, first post.

There may not be a hose if you don't see one visibly hanging loose. One of the little caps probably popped off. Just try capping it and see if your Ex runs any better.

Thanks for reply. I did cap it off last night and it did run better. The RPM gauge still shows it idling at 3000rpm although it seems to be idling at a rpm of normal (800-900). Any ideas about the gauge? Is it stuck? It only goes below 3000 rpm when the engine is turned off.
