95 ac compressor has no power to it

i have a 95 explorer that the ac compressor has no power to it i took i to a shop and had them recharge the r134a and that is when they found the problem they by passed the pressure switch or relay (can't remember what it was )an still had no power they then stuck a paper clip down in to the positive side of the connector and hooked a wire to the positive side of the battery and the clutch and compressor worked does anyone have a clue what could be wrong

I have the exact same problem with a 1996 XLT, I am able to get the compressor to work if I hot wire it to the battery, but in iuts normal state it wont come on.

I think there is ether a AC controller or AC compressor relay some where, but I dont have the original manual for the truck and the Haynes manual that I bought is not very informative.


If you hear anything on this form, I would realy like to know
