96 explorer 4wd engage and disengage solenoids

hello my 96 explorer will not engage into 4wd. i just replaced the hubs. the transfer case is working and the front drive shaft engages. im thinking its a problem with the vacuum now and want to replace the engage solenoid and disengage solenoid. problem is i cant find them anywhere in the vehicle. please help i would greatly appreciate it

I only know of vacuum hubs on rangers. I always thought explorers were perm locked at the hubs and only engage/disengage by the front driveshaft.

the parts stores and online sell the engage and disengage solenoids but the only thing i noticed was something with vac hoses on the front axle on the passenger side that im not sure what it is and cant find anything on it
