Air bag light is on?

2002 Explorer - my air bag light comes on when I start the car, flashes 3x with a short pause (1 second?) then does another 3x, then a longer (3 second?) pause, and it repeats with 3x, 3x - long pause, 3x, 3x - a total of maybe 6 cycles.... then it just stays on.

Supposedly this is a diagnostic code, but I have no idea what it means other than something is wrong with my air bags...

Can anyone help diagnose this for me before I throw money to the dealer to tell me something dumb like "it's a blown fuse"...

Thanks!

Actually, I *just* found this online (sorry, no 36 or 37!) ... of course, I have no idea what Pin 7 is, or even if this is the right chart for my vehicle - anybody??

airbag light on

Well the airbag light on my 01 flashes 3x then 7x for a number of times then stays on continusly. Any one know what error code this is?

Welcome to this forum! Clean the yellow connector under the front seat. This should solve your code 37 problem.

Many times that does nothing for the 3 7 code.

Have you actually done this on an Explorer?

Airbag Light On

Yes. I have already tried cleaning the yellow connector, but the airbag light still flashes 3x 7x. Does anybody know what this code is? Thanks for the replies. This is an awesome forum.
