I purchased a 2002 xlt with stuffed ignition possibly the results of an insurance job. There was no key so I changed the steering column, ignition and transponder ring. Then after a bit of research into the pats2 unit I rang up a locksmith to get the pats unit cleared to accept the key however due to the alarm activity he refused to go any further for fear that the voltage surges might affect there interface. So at the moment I'm trying to figure out 1= if there is any link between the pats unit and the alarm and two if the alarm can be disabled so that the pats can be reconfigured. I really don't want to go to ford if I can help it. If there is anyone out there that knows what there talking about I would love some help.
