Annoying charging system message and beeping

I have a 2005 Ford Explorer XLT 4wd. Starting about 1 year ago, the check charging system message and beeping have been coming on sometimes nearly constantly while only occasionally at other times. Multiple visits to ford service have confirmed no known problem with charging system. Noise is sometimes annoying to the point of deciding to get rid of the vehicle. Any thoughts?

Bad PCM maybe. Intermittent. Did it ever produce the issue while the shop had it?

Alternator

Have your alternator checked. Sounds like the brushes could be going bad. Saw the same thing on a 2001 crown Vic.
