Anti theft '98 4x4 sport.

I need to disable the anti theft system. Ive already replaced the lock cylinder and key. now when tower ford tries to program the new code. there lab-top does'nt even register when plugged into the cpu under the dash,they keep giving me the run around.

Some aftermarket tuners can disable the pats system. The sct x-cal 3 and livewire can for sure. James our resident tuner has done it for a couple of members here on the forum. You can pm him about getting a tuner Jah81592, or order one from his site www.hensonperformance.com. Be sure to tell him that you want the pats disabled.

Did you swap over the tone ring from the old lock set to the new lock? (Can't recall if it's attached to the lock or not off-hand). Did you look to see if you knocked the wiring loose in the swap process?

Have you checked the fuse that powers the OBDII connector? The clowns at the Ford stealership should have been able to find that one for you...
