I'd hoped I never have to start a thread here, but here goes:
I just installed an Apten chip into my 97 SOHC. I have a dual program chip with a stock setting too. When the switch is set to either the 87 or 93 performance settings when I turn the key to the on position the check engine light blinks rapidly and the fuel pump relay clicks rapidly as well. The truck will crank away, but won't start. On the stock setting, it will start fine.
The instructions say, "Sand the service port connectors untill you can see copper. If you dont clean this connection like the pic. below, the truck may have starting problems." I thought this was the problem so I have resanded the terminals several times. I'm sure that they are 100% perfect now.
So what's the problem????
