Cam Synchronizer length?

Hi,
Hopefully someone out there can answer a question for me. I have a 97 Ranger XLT 4.0 V6. I need to replace the Camshaft Synchronizer / Sensor assembly, but Rock Auto, Napa and Ford all offer 2 lengths to choose from 123 or 132 mm. Short of removing the old part, is there any way to determine which length I need? I searched just about all the threads I could but can't find the answer.

Finally replaced my camshaft synchronizer.....if it helps anyone else out there, my 97 4.o ohv used the 123mm length part.
