2016 Ford Explorer XLT
Hi. I've just got a 2016 Explorer XLT and am looking for storage space that will be hidden from sight from the outside. I will more than likely never use the third row seats. Is it possible to remove them entirely and use that space for storage? Thanks.

Same thing as the police package. Once you remove that third row, however, there is an 'X' brace meant to fill the area for chassis rigidity. After that you can add the police floor panels to fill in the space. Did the same thing on my '14 Sport since there was no storage at all when the third row was folded. At least with the '20-up models, they fixed that. I did have a long thread in the section for the 5th Gen models that showed the complete install. Might still be around.
