Cant load more than one cd. CD-6 errors.
I have a CD6-mp3 unit that refuses to load more than one CD. Has anyone else experienced this?
Well I think I fixed it.
First I found on another site, the name of which escapes me, how to put it into SHIPPING MODE. Press Scan and preset 1 together for a few seconds. Then you can remove the unit safely for maintenance.
I took off the top and back cover as one piece. Three screws on the back and a couple on the sides.
I then plugged it in to see how it worked. There are two metal rods that the trays slide on. I lubed those. Then I loaded 6 CDs successfully and played them.
I put it back into my truck and damn.....it wouldnt work again. Played only one CD. Now I took it out and in a few times until I figured out it was something with the cover.
On the backside there was a large screw that looks like a rivet going from the inside to the outside. The head of this screw was interfering with the CD trays. Sure enough I could see where it was rubbing the trays. So I just hammered it out and voila problem solved.
Now who the hell came up with this design?
