I have a 1994 explorer xlt and when I'm on the interstate and accelerate past 65mph or 2000 rpm the check engine light will come on until I slow down and get it back under those speeds.when it does that it feels like the power is being surpressed and something bad will happen if I keep at those speeds. Does anyone know why this may be happening?

My Chevy used to do that, had them pull the codes and it turned out to be a bad Mass air-flow Sensor(MAF), replaced it and its run fine ever since, but since it costs almost $75 for a remanufactured one, and over $150 for a new one, definately have the codes pulled first.
