cold air intake 2006 v6 explorer

hey guys im looking for a cold air intake for my explorer i found one but i really want a k and n one would it really matter if i bought the one for the v8 and tried to put it on?

No aftermarket open air intake for me. The OEM design is close as you can get to a TRUE cold air intake. I prefer oil free drop in panel filters such as the AFE Pro Dry-S or Amsoil Eaa. The key is obviously getting maximum possible air flow with the best filtration. If you look at K&N's intake dyno charts, the HP increase occurs above 3000 RPM. Driving at that speed will only reduce your MPG. Note the 57-2564 graph is for the 4.6L V8, you can assume your 4.0 SOHC V6 will be less than the 10.4 HP and 11.09 ft/lb torque gains that are shown.
