Does your Explorer's Auto Tranny have Column or Floor shift?

My 98 XLT has Floor shift, I think most if not all of the Explorers in Australia are floor shift. I have always wondered what the black rectangle in the middle of the dash above the wheel is for, turns out it's for the column shift gear indicator.

I am curious now and would like to know what type of shifter Explorer's have world wide.

Yea right hand drives have a floor shifter.. Left hand drive is the standard column shifter.

Did the 4th-gen LH-drives all have floor shifters? I have played around with the idea of picking up a used 4th-gen somewhere down the line, but I really prefer the column shifter.

I'd like to keep my 2000 XLT going forever, and if (when) the transmission fails I just may replace it with a manual, but I'm not drilling a hole in the floor. No way.
