i have a 91 xlt 4x4 4 dr. built 6/91
located in back drivers side in compartment with jack washer fluid there is what looks like a computer, it has a white push button and a light next to it.
What is it? and there is a computer on passinger side.

Controls the shifting of the electic shift thansfer case along with the reset.

What he said. Also there should be nothing on the passenger side but the stock amp. The ECU is located behind the front passenger kick panel on all 1st gen explorers.
