Hello,

I'm a new member and have used the info from this site many times.

I am replacing the ball joints & bushings on the front-end of my '01 Explorer XLT and am wondering what the correct ride height spec is so I can adjust my torsion bars while I am at it?

My rig is the 4 door XLT 4x4 with the sport package that has 16" wheels and P255/70R16 tires. I have the 4.0 liter V6 engine in case that makes any difference for the vehicle height.

Thanks!

Ride Height
1.Measure the distance between the center line of the front suspension lower arm bushing bolt and the lift. Record the measurement
2.Measure the distance between the front wheel spindle (lowest point) and the lift. Record the measurement
Determine ride height: Subtract measurement 1 from measurement 2. This is the ride height.
•Tighten the torsion bar adjusting bolt to increase the torque or raise the height.
•Loosen the torsion bar adjusting bolt to decrease the torque or lower the height.

Specification
Ride Height with Original Suspension Components mm (in) 90-111 (3.58-4.37)
Ride Height with New Suspension Components mm (in) 110-116 (4.33-4.56)
