So about 3 months ago I finally got around to replacing both hinge pins for my drivers door. The lower hinge had to be entirely replaced due to how badly it was wallowed out from the pins. So the door swings shut like a champ now, almost zero movement where there should not be. The problem im having now and what I need help on is the door striker. It seems that through the slamming and abuse of failing pins some dammage was done to the striker area. From what I can see there are three bolts holding the striker into the door.
The bolts appear to be simply put through some light gauge sheet metal right into the striker assembly. Well it seems i managed to rip two of those out of the door, so right now only 1 bolt is holding the striker in place.
Question here is, Is there enough room between where the door meets the B pillar to put a large finder washer in there with a button head bolt?
If no, what would be the suggested repair solution short of replacing the door?
