02 XLT 2WD
My car "2002 XLT 2WD" as the driver door exchanged since it has been in an accident..
anyway..when i started to put all things back i noticed that the connections
are different from the one fitted originally on my car and those on the new door..
please look at the pictures and tell me what is the difference..
thanks
Robert

They could be connections for an Explorer with a higher trim level - keypad entry, memory seats, etc. Another possibilty - the mismatched connectors could be from a different model year with a revised wiring harness.

Wouldn't it be possible to simply move the harness from your original door to the replacement door?

its exactly what i did..
im using the original cars wiring harness in the new door..
everything work exept for that the connection for the power mirror are different
and a strange extra connection"the one on the second pictures"
my guess its that the power mirror have just a different connection
but the one on the second pictures can it be a for the keyless pad?

I looked at the 2002 Ex factory Wiring Manual and it did not show a driver door connector like that one. Unfortunately, I do not have any Wiring Manual for later year Explorers.

FWIW, the wire color codes for the 2002 Ex keypad connector are:
  • light blue/yellow
  • light blue
  • yellow
  • black
  • brown
  • red
