Engine shake and chatter.

hi my name is aeron im new to the forum. i need some help finding out why my 3.0 is shaking at idle and around 3000 rpm it goes away i saw there was something about the cps (camshaft position sensor) acting up. the truck is a 2000 ranger xlt supercab 2wd with the 4r55e trans. anything to rid the engine of this problem would be great thanx.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the Ranger section. Do you have a check engine light? Check for a vacuum leak.

yes i have a check engine light and i dont know about a vacuum leak

The check engine light is on because there is a code. You have to find out what the code number is.

you can also hear a consistant knocking at idle up to 3x rpm but its not in the bottom end. it sound like its in the passenger side valve cover. that year truck had a recall for a camshaft fracture but this isthe second 3.0
