I just picked up a D44 and 9" out of an early 70s F-150 and was looking at the lower coil seats and was wondering if I could just use Explorer 5.5" lift coils for the front instead of bronco coils?? then I could use the factory coil bucket and save a little money.... would this work??

Thanks for any info

nope the diameter of the coils are larger

How much are Explorer 5.5" Coils running these days? I honestly have no idea, but EB coils only run about $150. I believe that X coils run a bit more.

Also remember, TTB coils are quite a bit stiffer that SFA coils. An EB coil setup will provide much more flex.

Ford SFA coil buckets are cheap and easy to come by. I wouldn't base this decision on the cost of the buckets.

I wasn't figuring mainly on cost, I just figured that if it were possible, that the Explorer coils would be better b/c they were made to use with the weight of an explorer, whereas the EB coil is set to be used with an EB, which I believe is heavier, so the spring rate would be "weird".... I'm just trying to get some info b4 I start on this.
