fog lights, round or rectangle

is there a reason this was done? did certain years get one style and others the other style? i am needing 1 rectangle fog lights, every thing i see is round. is round newer that rectangle?

95-98 was rectangle, 99-01 was round, they changed the style of the front bumper then.
