1994 ranger
I have a 1994 ford ranger..has 245,000 miles on it. still has plenty of power. Problem is it will sometimes not start and acts like it's not getting any fuel. have changed the fuel pump and fuel filter. Is there something that the computer could be doing to cause this.

Check to see if the fuel pressure drops off quickly after you shut the engine off. You might also try cycling the ignition on (for a few seconds) and off a few times without trying to start it. This is to see if you can build up fuel pressure. Then try to start it. If it fires up right away you are probably losing fuel pressure after turning the engine off.

If that does not help then it is probably something in the cold start mode, possibly sensors.
