I have a stock 1994 Explorer XL with 100,000 miles on it. The ABS light started coming on at-speed and then turning off again after the ignition is turned off. I pulled the fault codes and got only Fault Code 65 "G Switch".

I looked in my Chilton manual for the location of the "G Switch" and there is no mention of it. Can anyone please tell me whether my vehicle even has a "G Switch"? If so, where is it on the vehicle?

Thanks,

Bruce

I don't know about a g switch, but look at this thread, there's a linked video a few posts down that might be helpful.

Wow, thank you for the quick reply! I watched the video and it is very interesting. There is no mention of a "G Switch", though.

I should have mentioned that I have the four-wheel ABS, which was optional for my year. Can someone chime-in and let me know the location of this "G Switch", if it even exists?

Thanks,

Bruce

If you scroll down at the following link, it mentions such a sensor on the driver's side frame rail. It may be a matter of terminology. I believe there is a controller there, which proportions fluid to the rear, among other things. Anyway here is the link which calls it a "G-sensor", for our year Explorer:

I have no experience with that part of the system. All my work was on the front ABS sensors/tone ring.
