I have a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0 SOHC, needs a new Idler pulley, Tensioner and Belt...any suggestions? Leaning towards the gates pulleys with the gatorback belt.

They are not bad but I prefer dayco

IMO, they are both fine.

Gates seems to make good products across the board. Their tensioners look a lot more like OE than Dayco's.

The Gatorback belt is more resistant to pulley misalignment.

My ex-Ford mechanic neighbor when I lived in CO recommended Goodyear Gatorback belts.

I replaced my tensioner and idler pulley with Ford/Motorcraft pieces, and the belt was the Goodyear Gatorback.

I used a Goodyear Pulley & tensioner Pulley and there fine

I used gates belt and tensioner and have had no issues.

I used motorcraft tensioner and belt no problems here
