I am experiencing problems with a recently purchased 92 Aerostar. The power switch for the graphic equalizer seems to be defective.
As long as I hold the button in, the equalizer works but as soon as I release the button the lights on the equalizer go out. I don't know if the switch is momentary and activates a relay or whether the switch itself is supposed to have a latch feature.
Has anyone else experienced this problem

Thanks

You could replace the switch if you know how to solder. All of these things are fragile, so use a low wattage iron, and thin solder which melts quickly. You might be able to find a replacement equalizer in a junkyard. A stereo shop might be able to solder a new switch for you.

I will pull the unit out one day soon and open it up to see what the switch looks like then search the electronic catalogs for a suitable replacement.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I had similar issue with my 93. the power button stopped working just as you described. I ended up glueing a plastic bit underneath the actual button to hold it in the active position.
