I'm here cause I'm hoping to get some good advice on my 1994 Explorer.
Being a tom-boy sort, I do have some experience with autos although mainly v.w.s and they're so simple, I'm not sure they count.
Anyway....I recently took my truck to a mechanic to check-out an anti-freeze leak I had and was quite shocked when they quoted over $2,500.00 to repair it.
was hoping someone could take the time to give me an idea if this is reasonable? Here's what they said I needed replaced;
water pump
coolant hoses
fan blade assembly
intake manifold gaskets
valve cover gaskets
timing chain gasket set
upper & lower radiatior hoses
thermostat and gaskets
I'm pretty sure they're killing me on labor but if anyone has the time to take to advise me...I would greatly appeciate it.
