I read on Ranger Power Sports that an autometer guage pod for the Full Size GM trucks is a close fit to the Rangers. I'm assuming that the A pillar in a 91-94 explorer is the same as that in an 88-92 Ranger. I borrowed one and fit it against my explorer, and it looks as though it may fit with some filing and sanding. Has anyone done this? I would like to see what it looks like finished, or if it will even come out right. I really want a true oil pressure guage, and probably some other reading, but I'm not to the point where I want to make a guage cluster out of round guages yet. Thanks for any help.

Ps, the one I tried was the single 2 5/8" model, I think I'm going to get the dual 2 1/16" model to fit on my explorer.

I haven't done it, but I am very interested in hearing how it works. It would be cool to try and use a double pod for the gauges for Rancho RS9000s. I haven't even started to try this or think about it much, but it certainly would be cool if possible.

Here are two pictures i made while holding the single guage pod against the pillar.

The above pic was made with it taped in place. There is a strip of electrical tape over the top, so you cant see the gap.

I'm pushing against it here, and you can see the gap that i need to take out.

It will require some fitting, but it isn't WAY off. Also, this 2 5/8" pod looks a little overwhelming, a dual 2 1/16" will look a little better I think. Trimmed, maybe filled, sanded, and dyed light blue, I think I can get it looking OK.

Autometer makes a gauge pod to fit the Ranger/Explorer. They make a single and a dual pod. I don't have the part number with me, but I can get it (check their web site).

I have a two gauge pod, and am in the middle of installing it. It fits the interior very well (no modifications necessary)

Yeah, but the only ones they make (15308, 15309) are for 93-2000 Rangers which only fit 95-2000 explorers.

I'm sure you have already checked this out but just for arguments sake Auto Meter's website lists the 93-99 Explorers as using the #15308,#15309 guage pods. Could be a typo but its worth looking into.

A '93-'97 Ranger interior is the same as a '91-'94 Explorer Interior (at least as far as the A-pillar trim)

Having had 2 '93s, believe me when I say it should fit just fine.

Gage Pods

Older F-150 versions do not work either. I tried it.

I have e-mailed AutoMeter for a reply about the availability of gage pods for the 91-94 Explorer/Navajo.

I am still waiting for a reply.
