i have just been the recipient of a 02 xlt 4x4 auto with a 6 banger with 80,000 on it. i now the history of this vehicle it is completely stock except the engine oil and filter. everything works im very happy. ive notice something abnormal. sometimes upon moderate acceleration onto a highway with the kickdown to 2nd or 3rd there is a shudder. under normal driving its fine. i thought it was a miss but thats not the case checked plugs and wires and there fine. im thinking something along the lines of 4x4 system or shift solenoid. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Welcome to this forum! You might have to look into getting a replacement solenoid block eventually. Replace the filter & fluid in the transmission, and see if it helps.
