98 XLT
Hello,
I have a 98 Explorer XLT. I know this is a common problem, but both the 4WH and 4WL lights blink periodically, I'd say every five minutes or so or when braking. they blink about 6-10 times. The check engine light is off. If I disconnect the battery the lights stay off for about 2 days amd back again but while they're not blinking after the reset, I can turn on the 4WD. I think 4WD Auto still works but not sure (with lights blinking). As everyone, hard up for money, can't afford a shop and mechinacally inclinced enough to fix this, only problem is, I don't know where to begin. So some pointers would help, is it possibly a sensor and if so where is the sensor located exactly, is it something in the transfer case, I am at a loss so any advice would be appericated.
