97 Sport, Horn/Panic Alarm goes off without provocation - the key fob or the car itself have not been touched and horn goes off with no apparent reason. I have removed the electircal relay which not only disabled the horn, but interestingly it disabled the cruise control. Anyone exprienced this and if so, have a solution?

When is the last time you replaced the battery under the hood?

When my parents had the Explorer I have now, they had that problem. They had the battery replaced, and the problem was solved.

A customer of mine with a 2001 Toyota Avalon had a similar issue. Her alarm (with the horn beeping) kept false triggering overnight, then she needed a boost in the morning. The battery was bad.
