how can I tell MPG

is there a way to tell my mileage, having trouble filling the tank, then refilling after 20 miles. Does anyone know a way to figure gas mileage. I was thinking of running out of gas, then putting three gallons in, then driving till I ran out. Please help, I do not trust the gauge. It runs awsome, no misses, plenty of power.

I found mine out by siphoning the fuel from the tank, putting one gallon in, then driving till it started sputtering. Came to about 16 MPG. Probably closer to 14 with the new tires. I'm sure there's an easier way though....

fill it up and set your odometer and drive it for how ever long you wish then when you go to fill up again see how many gallons tops the tank off and divide the number of gallons into the miles driven on that tank.....

so you fill up and use 7 gallons and your odometer reads 120 then 120/7 = 17mpg
