- 2006Explorer EB 4.0 SOHC
Howdy.
just got a 2006 Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition with the 4.0L SOHC V6 two days ago.
it's got 125k miles, and doesn't seem to have any issues.
An ASE Master buddy of mine gave it a once over and says it looks like I got a good one.
I've only owned two Ford products before - a 94 F150 that blew the motor, and a 95 Towncar (P.O.S. that ended with an alternator fire), so this is my first 2000+ Ford experience. Both those had well over 200k miles when I got them, and I'm hoping this Ford experience will be much better!
Been driving the Explorer for two days and I'm really liking it.
I was worried that 200HP on such a large vehicle wouldn't be enough, but I'm pretty comfortable with the acceleration and passing ability. (not looking to hot rod it or dog it)
After being stuck in a Kia Rio (SERIOUS P.O.S.) for the last two years, this is like moving from the ghetto to the suburbs!
Glad to find this forum, as I always want as much info as possible about the cars I own.
