I just got a 98 Explorer. Some prior owner, not the person from whom I purchased, had installed a remote start which I am removing. I plan to install my own remote start so I will just join to wires already tapped into several places.
1. Under the steering wheel, looking from the left door opening, there is a large connector bolted on to a base. What are these thick wires on it:
Top row: (thin) gray/black, yellow, yellow, red/gray, yellow
2nd row: (thin) orange/green gray/yellow
3rd row: green/black green/gray
Bottom row: yellow yellow
2. He tapped into a brown wire in a bundle on the left side of the vehicle. Here is a photo showing the white wire he used to tap in:

3. He tapped into a red/light green wire right at the ignition coil connector.
TIA,
buddy
