Inside Whistling Noise

Several days ago when returning from a 275 mile trip in our 1996 5.0 Limited towing our travel trailer, my wife and I noticed a high pitch whistle noise.

Sounded like it was coming from inside, like from the A/C vent, but when the AC was turned off, it still continued. It has not made the noise since, but we have not towed any distances or driven on any long trips. Any ideas? Thanks!

do you have a sunroof? i got a high-pitched whistle and couldnt figure out what it was, then i realized my sunroof was closed, but not latched(i have an after market - ford doesnt latch but can still have this problem)

No, mine is a factory installed sun roof. It was not coming from there. It sounded like it was coming from inside the dash or back part of the engine.
