Interchanging seats?

Can a bench seat from a '01 or '02 Explorer Sport be used as a 3rd row seat for an '02 Explorer XLS?

this would be interesting to know i want to switch out my seats in my 2000 for the newer ones if i can.

Not from first hand experience, but from researching this and knowing a bit about seats, it doesn't look like it will work just by bolting them down. A middle bench seat is normally wider, whereas the 3rd row seats are normally narrower due to the wheel well. The seats aren't the same size and I imagine, due to the nature of hidden 3rd row folding seats, that the mounts would be completely different all together. Upon more investigation though I saw a thread that might help. It's comparing 3rd rows.

It looks like the second row seating it about the same as 2nd gens does anyone know if they would swap over? I like the look and the way they fold better
