Interior lights stay on when all doors are close!

I have a 98 for explorer. For some reason when I close all the doors the interior lights stay on. The door ajar light goes off though. Anyone know what the problem could be even though the door ajar light is going off?

I bet your light dimmer switch is turned all the way up.

wait so if the light dimmer switch is all the way up the interior lights are on? The front main overhead light is on and also the farthest rear one

Ya, if its turned all the way up then the lights will stay on, so just turn it down a little.
