KKM Intake Air Silencer

Hi there i installed my kkm intake on my 4.0 explorer a few months ago and was wondering i installed everything like it said on the instructions. But was wondering i here everybody talking about an air silencer what is that was i suppose to take something out of the intake tube or what because it wasn't on the instructions. Thanks

I think i removed my silencers, the are the two odd shaped tubes that are clamped onto the intake tube, hold on i'll just post pics.

I just did it so when I find a cap for the holes I will get rid of the duct tape.

ya when are they ever going to put out a complete intake for the 06+ explorers v6

what is the advantage of removing them?

ya have u seen any advantage from this

ehhh maybe a little quiker throttle response, you know it's like more air gets into the T.B. directly and faster, but it's not like your gonna drop a second in your 0 to 60 time
it does deepen the throatness of the intake though

Thanks. Did you find caps to replace the duct tape? And has anyone heard anything about throttle body spacers for the 4th gens..are they worth it at all?

I've heard TB spacers are great separators. Separating a man from his money. Could be wrong though.
