just bought a 01 4x4 sport trac with 150,000k on it. i got a pretty good deal on it, and want to make it last a while. looking to change the trans, diffs,engine fluids. should i switch to syn. engine oil? is there a guide to change the trans and diffs.? i always change my own oil, just never had to change trans, or diff fluid before. do i need a pump or anything?
whats a good lube for the diffs?

It's all about preference on lubes. There's how-to threads in the "stock 95-01 explorer" section. There's also project threads over on mysporttrac.com in the project section.

just contacted the pev. owner, cause the trans fluid looks good. well he had it changed 5000 miles ago, but didnt do the filter. shoild i drop the pan and change the filter? i already have the filter, and gasket.
