Need some advice with transmission drop

Ok, I'm dropping my 5R55E due to losing 1st gear... I have bought another trans... changed fluids and filter...

I'm having questions on getting the old trans out...
We've dropped the skidplate... crossmember... exhaust... transf.case( including both driveshafts)... starter
Is the only way to get the torque conv. bolts out through the starter opening... or is there an easier way...??

Well we just dropped the trans. and left the torque converter on the flywheel... Then we got the torque converter off... the pain will be putting it all back together again...
And just my luck while under the engine... find a leak in my radiator... so now I have to get a new radiator...

Other than removing the trans, yes the only way to take the bolts out is to take out the starter.
